Proposal for Speen CofE School to become an academy and join the Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust

The Governing Body of Speen CofE VA School is proposing to change the status of the school from a Voluntary Aided School to an Academy, and for the school to join the Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust (ODBST), which is a Multi Academy Trust. Governors of the school believe that this will assist in achieving three strategic priorities: i) ensuring that Speen School continues to thrive and have a future into the medium- to long-term; ii) supporting the Christian ethos that underpins the school’s vision and values, whilst welcoming children of all faiths and none; and iii) ensuring that Speen School provides the best possible start in educational for our children.

Governors initiated a five-week consultation period on 4th February 2022, and welcome comments and questions from parents/carers of the school’s children and members of the wider community in Speen and its surrounds. Further background on our plans to convert to an academy, and contact details to comment or ask a question, are provided below.
